How to use the Full-HD Mini-cam SQ11

 

To identify this camera it is possible to use the USB cable for connect to PC and obtain the id.

It can be obtained in Windows through "Devices administrator" or in Linux with "lsusb" command.

It function as follow: 

1. To charge the battery

This cam can be charged using the USB connected in a PC as well make use of a mobile charger.

While the Red LED are blinking, the camera are charging.

In the moment that the LED stop to blink, the camera are fully charged.

2. Select mode of work. Camera photo or video.

To understand the function of the SQ11 camera, it is necessary to know what each button does.

2.1. ON/OFF button.

• With the camera off, a long press in this button power on the camera.
• With the camera on, a long press in this button power off the camera.

2.2. M button (Mode button).

Pressing this button switch through Video res (720p and 1080p) and Photo mode. The color of the light show the active mode.

• Blue: Video 720p
• Blue and Red at the same time: Video 1080p
• Red: Photo

2.3. Workflow

1. With the camera off, long press in ON/OFF button to power on.
2. Select the mode with M button.
3. Confirm the desired use option pressing ON/OFF button once.

• On video mode, a three blinks indicates that the camera are recording at selected resolution. The led stay off but the camera continues recording.
• On photo mode, every time that ON/OFF button is pressed the camera take a picture.  

       4. After use the camera, a long press of six seconds power off the camera.

3. Night mode

With the night mode it can be capture like typical horror films or military missions. With a little poor green quality of image, but it is enough for his price. This can be realized with the infrared leds that has been installed in SQ11 camera. 

To activate the night mode it is necessary follow this steps:

1. With the camera off, long press in ON/OFF button to power on.
2. Hold two seconds ON/OFF button to activate night mode (The Red led blink twice).

It can be check that the infrared leds are on using a smartphone camera to see a soft red light in every IR led.

4. Movement detector mode

With movement detector function, the camera stay power off until something cross in front of the camera. The camera save automatically shorts videos of five minutes.

For activate this function:

1. With the camera off, long press in ON/OFF button to power on.
2. Select 720p or 1080p video mode pressing M button.
3. Again press M button three seconds.

When the camera detect movement, the video start automatically and the red and blue led blink at the same time.

5. WebCam mode

To use the camera with a PC like a webcam, follow this steps:

1. Connect the USB cable of the camera to PC. 
2. Press once the power button. Every time that power button are pressed, the camera switch between Mass Storage (of inserted SD Card) and WebCam mode.

To use this mode in Linux, it could be necessary indicate which modules to use.

sudo rmmod uvcvideo

sudo modprobe uvcvideo quirks=2

6. Reproduce video or images in a screen with RCA

Using the USB cable included with SQ 11 camera and a USB charger, it can be used to watch in a screen that have a RCA video/image input (Yellow RCA). In the TV or monitor it is necessary select the correct input source in the menu source of that.
